Activities for an Asian Holiday

There are plenty of activity holiday options when you are on an Asian holiday. There are great beaches here, clear waters, vast mountain ranges and plenty of unspoiled countryside for you to explore.

Many people who spend time at the beach in Asia will try scuba diving. South-East Asia is considered to be one of the best parts of the world for scuba diving. If you are a beginner there are schools where you can take lessons and get certified. Thailand’s Phuket and Koh Phi Phi are popular choices.

Trekking holidays in Asia are popular and countries such as Nepal are the ideal destination. If you have a few weeks to spare, then you can try the Annapurna Circuit. If you just have a few days then head for some of the shorter treks around Kathmandu or Pokhara. China has Tiger Leaping Gorge, which is considered to be a great trekking destination, or you could spend time in the Sapa area of Vietnam.

Asia has many festivals that take place throughout the year so if you prefer to spend your time enjoying the many cultural highlights of the region then you will not be short of something to see and do. In Varanasi in India, there are nightly events that make the area popular with tourists. However, there are others that only take place on an annual basis so if you want to see them make sure you plan your holiday accordingly. Try the Naadam Festival in Ulaanbaatar.

Consider exploring the area on the Transsiberian Railway. This is a journey that starts in Moscow and takes you all the way to Beijing in China. It is recommended that you split the journey up and just pick up your train tickets as you go. If you choose to change trains at the border you will not have to buy an international ticket and this will save you some money.
